Outpost Inspector Notice
Notice for the field inspectors who walk sites — what data the Service captures and your responsibilities while on-site.
Inspector-facing notice intended to be presented at first login on an inspector device. Confirm with employment counsel that the wording does not create a Hypeify–inspector employment relationship or override the customer's own onboarding requirements.
Who This Is For
You are reading this because you have been engaged by a business (the "Operator") to perform field inspections of one or more physical sites, and the Operator has chosen Hypeify Outpost (the "Service") as its inspection tool. You are signed in to the Service as an inspector under the Operator's account.
The Operator — not Hypeify — engaged you, set your schedule, defined what to inspect, owns the resulting data, and pays for the Service. Hypeify operates the software. Hypeify is not your employer, dispatcher, supervisor, or insurer.
What the Service Captures
While you use the Service the following information is captured and stored under the Operator's account: your name and email, the device you are signed in on, the sites and inspections you visit, your responses to inspection items, photos you upload, any notes or comments you enter, and the date and time of those events. Where the Service is configured to do so, the device's geolocation may be recorded at the moment you start or finish a walkthrough. Network and device diagnostics may also be collected to detect errors.
The Operator can see this information. Hypeify staff can see this information only as needed to operate the Service or as required by law. Hypeify subprocessors process this information as described in the Subprocessors page.
Your Responsibilities On-Site
Only enter sites you have been authorized by the Operator to enter, and only inspect what the Operator has instructed you to inspect.
Follow all site safety rules, signage, and posted instructions. Stop the walkthrough if conditions become unsafe — no inspection is worth your safety.
Only photograph what is reasonably necessary to record the condition being inspected. Avoid photographing identifiable people, license plates, customer payment information, employee disciplinary records, or other sensitive content unless the Operator has specifically instructed you to do so and has confirmed it has the legal authority to collect that content.
Be aware that some states and jurisdictions require notice or consent before recording images or audio of people, employees, or workplaces. If in doubt, ask the Operator before photographing.
Photo and Recording Consent
Photos you upload may be retained by the Operator indefinitely under its account and may be shared by the Operator with third parties (for example, a brand owner, a franchisor, an insurance carrier, or a regulator) without further notice to you. Do not upload personal photos or photos unrelated to the inspection.
If you believe a photo you uploaded was captured in error or contains content that should not have been collected, contact the Operator promptly so they can remove it.
Device Permissions
The Service may ask your device for permission to access the camera (to attach photos), location (to confirm you are at the inspected site), notifications (for schedule reminders), and local storage (to queue work when you are offline). You can grant or deny each permission in your device settings. Denying camera or location may prevent some inspection items from being completed.
Your Account
Keep your login credentials confidential. Do not share your account with another person. If you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else, notify the Operator immediately.
When your engagement with the Operator ends, the Operator is responsible for deactivating your account. You may also request that the Operator delete your inspector profile.
No Employment Relationship with Hypeify
Nothing in this notice or your use of the Service creates an employment, contracting, agency, joint-venture, partnership, or franchise relationship between you and Hypeify. Your relationship is exclusively with the Operator. All employment, wage-and-hour, classification, workers'-compensation, expense-reimbursement, and similar questions should be directed to the Operator.
